CMH Hospice to offer bereavement support group classes
The support group classes will be held for eight consecutive sessions, are open to anyone affected by the loss of a loved one and are offered at no charge.
According to Valerie Noblitt, CMH director of home care services, the support group goals are to provide educational information about grief and loss, to assist group members in developing coping and adapting skills, and to offer emotional support.
CMH Hospice counselors Austin McCrickard, chaplain; Teresa Pulley, BSW; Terry Warren, MSW; Angel Townsend, MSW; or Connie Duryee, hospice coordinator, will lead the sessions. Topics will include understanding the grief experience, handling the difficult emotions of grief, managing the stress of change, preparing for holidays and special occasions, and finding meaning after loss.
Pre-registration is requested. Contact Connie Duryee, CMH hospice coordinator, to register or for more information at 417-326-3585.
