Ashton Breesawitz receives May 2024 CMH DAISY Award

Citizens Memorial Hospital announces that Ashton Breesawitz, a registered nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at CMH, has received the CMH DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses for May 2024.

Breesawitz was nominated by a patient who praised her for exceptional care, professionalism and attention to detail.

“Ashton was very attentive to my needs. She explained things thoroughly, plus asked if I had questions or any needs at that time. She took her time and didn’t hurry away. She responded quickly to any needs I might have at that time. She was professional, polite and caring,” the patient wrote.

The patient also commended the entire ICU staff, saying, “The entire staff in ICU was very caring and polite.”

About the DAISY Award

The DAISY Award was established by the DAISY Foundation in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, who passed away at the age of 33 from an autoimmune disease. DAISY is an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune System. The international award is a thank you to nurses everywhere for the extraordinary care they provide.

CMH launched the DAISY Award program in January 2019. Each month, a CMH or Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation nurse receives the award.
