CMH welcomes four new physicians to medical staff
Citizens Memorial Hospital is pleased to welcome four new physicians to its medical staff: Zachary Carel, M.D., emergency medicine; Jeffrey R. Frerking, M.D., pediatrics; Zadesha Gordon, M.D., geriatric medicine; and Dylan Schwindt, M.D., general surgery.

Zachary Carel is an emergency medicine physician. He earned his medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School-Twin Cities and completed a residency in emergency medicine at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine in Roanoke, Virginia. Jeffrey R. Frerking joined CMH Pediatric and Walk-In Clinic in Bolivar, providing care from birth through adolescence. He earned his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock and completed a residency in pediatrics at the University of Oklahoma School of Community Medicine in Tulsa. Zadesha Gordon is a specialist in geriatric medicine and cares for residents at CMH long-term care facilities. Beginning in 2026, she will also see patients by referral at Bolivar Family Care Center. She earned her medical degree from the American University of Antigua, Osbourn, Antigua. She completed a residency in internal medicine at Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine, Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, Florida, and a fellowship in geriatric medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts. Dylan Schwindt joined the CMH General Surgery Clinic in Bolivar. He earned his medical degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine and completed a general surgery residency at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Georgia. His specialties include adrenal gland removal, anti-reflux surgery (Nissen fundoplication), hernia repair, robotic surgery (da Vinci), video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) and wound care.
