Medical Excellence Scholarship
How to Apply
Completed CMH Medical Excellence Scholarship applications must be submitted to CMH Human Resources by 5 p.m. on the last day of February. Late applications will not be accepted.
Scholarship Details
The application deadline is the end of February for scholarships issued the fall of that year. These scholarships are made available to anyone interested working in the medical field from the CMH service area. Applicants must be able to return to the service area as a CMH employee after their education level is complete.
A board will review and select applicants to come in for an interview and submit more information. The panel will elect about 15-20 new applicants every school year. The scholarship will be awarded in late April.
To be considered for the scholarship, you must turn in:
- The completed application
- Three professional references in sealed envelopes
- A letter of intent from the applicant
- A copy of the applicant's most recent transcripts (does not have to be official)
Before any financial assistance can be given, all scholarship recipients must show acceptance into a program or university.
Applicants must show a minimum of a 2.5 non-weighted grade point average on a 4.0 scale for high school or post-secondary educational coursework.

Scholarship Funding
To help raise money for the scholarship, the CMH Foundation hosts an Annual CMH Foundation Medical Excellence Golf Classic at Silo Ridge Golf and Country Club in Bolivar. The Golf Classic is held in June. Participants will pay an entry fee that goes toward green fees, cart rental, a gift package, tournament prizes, breakfast, lunch, snacks, and a dinner after the tournament.
The tournament has six different sponsorship levels ranging from $250 to $5,000. All money raised from this event goes to the Medical Excellence Scholarship fund.
